In my role as Manager, Office Services for Papa Johns I work closely with the Facilities team on sustainability projects within the corporate headquarters offices. In the past, we have struggled with a corporate sustainability commitment. Within the past three years Papa Johns has hired Sustainability managers to help us focus and to realize the importance of our impact on the environment.

Together in a built environment we have started mixed recycling programs, we have retrofitted lights to LED through entire buildings, we have upgraded the HVAC TRACER system, we have recycled or reused office equipment, and we have upgraded our parking lot to LED lighting. Understanding and advancing meaningful change is difficult and takes time, especially with an issue as complicated as sustainability, but we still have to move forward and I am confident that I will be able to advance real change at Papa Johns. I’m excited about the learning opportunities this certification program will provide. I want to thank you and the IFMA Foundation for the scholarship.
